Well we had the nightmare with a proposed estate sale which we cancelled and decided on an auction that turned out to be one of the most pleasurable business experiences we've ever had with Rowley's as our chosen auctioneer. This testimonial is not only about Rowley's but also considerations why we chose an auction over an estate sale. In our case we were liquidating a family estate as my mother was moving to Texas. We interviewed several auctioneers and chose Rowley's as our Go To guy.
Working with Rowley's was an incredible experience. The entire staff is so cordial and the great reputation of Brian Rowley and his team shines through with our incredible SUCCESS. I contribute their great following of regular customers also an asset to great attendance and even Brian commented that it exceeded expectation of average auctions with great prices for us and it was only an afternoon Sunday auction.
We actually interviewed 6 auction firms after having a nightmare experience with an estate sale company for non performance and missing most all committments. After 2 of the 6 auctioneers we interviewed recommended Brian, given their distance and size did not make it profitable for them, it made our decision easy that Rowley's was the right choice. It says a lot of things when a competitor recommends your firm. They are very busy folks and worked incredibly hard. I can't imagine someone not selecting Rowley's.
I hate to make this long winded but if you're hedging on whether an auction is right for you consider the tips I found on a site from an Arizona auctioneer. It's SPOT on and so true to the core so take heed and best of luck. It does of course depend on whether you have a sufficient size estate to make it worth while for both parties. Read the following for some great Insight on why have an auction versus an estate sale!

Dear Brian and Crew,
We would just like to thank you for making our parents auction, Harold and Carol Krosnicki, such a wonderful experience. As you know, it was very emotional for us and your team was nothing but kind and compassionate. We really enjoyed the whole process and your crew, Greg, Toni, Gene, Max and Chris were really fun to be around. We had never been to an auction, let alone knew what went into one, but we now know how fun it is and how to “row things up”.
Thank you once again for being so wonderful and kind. You may even see Sheila when you have your auction in Ohio, so tell Gene to be ready for her. Have a great summer.
Lesa, Sheila and Carla
